Just a small photo summary of this summer season.

No big story this time. Only days outside, small trips, family moments, friends, heat, beach, handball, concerts, walks, and all those little things that end up being the real summer.

We spent a few days in Santiago because the kids were playing the Eixo Atlántico 2026 tournament. They were there representing our city in handball, which is still a bit strange to write, but also very nice.

April felt like the start of something—almost. That in-between moment where winter still has a grip, but you can smell the freedom of spring just around the corner.

🚐 Travel

We started prepping the van for the season, which is always exciting. Not so exciting: finding out the battery was completely dead. The central locking didn’t work, and neither did the manual locks, so getting it open turned into a bit of a puzzle. Eventually, we managed and headed straight to the mechanic for a battery replacement. The good news? It passed the inspection without any issues. So technically, we’re road-ready.

My wife and I have been used to camping since a long time ago, just put the tent and a couple of sleeping bags in the trunk of the car and drive to somewhere with a beach. We did that since the very beginning, I have lots of good memories and stories about it.

From June 27th to July 15th I was attending to the World Roller Games 2019, the world's largest event comprising all the world championship roller sports disciplines.

As group of developers, our commitment there was keep the homogeneity of the data transfered by the different companies who are the responsibles for the different disciplines. So we developed a serverless API (Python + FalconFramework + AWS Lambda) with the main data structure and many ways to keep the data updated even in live events. Appart from that we also were working in the official mobile application (iOS + Android) plus the official js widget (VueJS). Fullstack party!

In agile programming "sprint" is the basic unit of development. But for us it means something more. In our team, a sprint is a period of time to work all together, have meetings, have fun and - in the end - improve the skills of the team and each of us.

2015 will be remembered (by us) as the year when my children started going to school. With all its implications, new schedules, calendar settings and try to fit the mess with the work times and other tasks. Despite the initial organizational mess, the year was ok with me as we all have health. The only spot I need to improve is to be able to disconnect and to have a better "parenting quality time".
